The Templates page gives you a gallery of reusable pipeline configurations. You can start from a system template, save your own pipe as a template, and create new pipes from either one.
You can search templates by name from the Templates page.

Available templates

Templates are pre-configured pipelines designed for common document processing tasks.
  • System templates are built in and maintained by DocPipe
  • Custom templates are templates you save from your own pipes
Each card shows the template name, description, and node count. System templates are marked System. Templates you save are marked Custom.

Creating a pipe from a template

  1. Open Templates
  2. Click Use on the template you want
  3. Enter the new pipe name, description, and retention period
  4. Click Create Pipe
DocPipe creates a new pipe with the template pipeline already configured. It then opens the new pipe so you can start editing right away.

Saving a pipe as a template

You can save an existing pipe as a reusable template.
  1. Open the pipe
  2. Open the page actions menu
  3. Click Save as Template
  4. Enter a template name and description
  5. Click Save Template
DocPipe saves the current pipeline configuration as a custom template. You can reuse that template to create more pipes with the same starting structure.

Managing templates

  • You can edit the name and description of custom templates
  • You can delete custom templates you no longer need
  • You cannot edit or delete system templates
Templates are a starting point. After you create a pipe from a template, the new pipe is independent from the original template.
