# document.received

> A document was stored by a trigger, an upload or an inbox. `data.status` is `queued` when a run starts for it, or `held` when it waits until someone runs it.

Sent when a [trigger](/api-reference/trigger-webhook), an upload or an [inbox](/files/inbox) stores a document for a workflow. `status` is `queued` when a run starts for it and `held` when it waits until someone runs it; a held document's run sends its own [run events](/api-reference/events#event-types) once it starts. See [events](/api-reference/events) for delivery, retries and [signatures](/api-reference/verifying-signatures).

Public Ingestly API. Authenticate every request with an API key in the
`X-Api-Key` header. A key belongs to one organization and carries scopes
(such as `workflows:trigger` or `runs:read`); each operation requires one
scope, and a key without it is rejected with 403. Errors use RFC 7807
    problem details.
